Dresscodes in Sweden

There are five dresscode labels.
Dresscode is always given to the
gentlemen.

 

1. Dresscode formal
Means tailcoat or military festival attire. For
women is this then taildress. Can be written
civil festival attire and means then only tail-
coat. If clothes recommendation is missing
on invitation, means this festival attire.
Ofcourse must reason exist, if it not clothes
recommendation exists and it is a gardenparty,
then tailcoat is entirely wrong. Festival attire
is worn from late afternoon and if it's wedding,
a big, with dinner, In others from 6 pm to big
and formal arrange with dance or bale. Other
opportunities is royaldinner, ceremonial men's
dinner party, orders meeting and other grand opportunities with festival attire statement.

2. Dinnerjacket
Dinnerjacket or Black tie on invitation and
dinnerjacketdress is used to anniversarydinner
or supper, studentparty, little or bigger fine
dinner with or without dance, supper,
theatrical opera or operettapremiére, wedding
with afternoon marriage and then with a dinner
afterwards.

3. Dark lounge suit
Dark lounge suit, or dresscode informal on invitation. For women dark suit dress is from lunch and under the evening at studentparty, anniversary-dinner, or fine dinner with or without dance. Morning wedding with lunch afterwards or reception or dinner, supper , baptism, very fine lunch, finer reception.

At these three last given occasions it fits excellent with hat for women. Furthermore fits it altogether excellent with hat to wedding with lunch or with reception afterwards.

Dark suit with white shirt is also correct attire for the man at a funeral. For women black or dark attire. Not with just shoulders.

4. Morning coat
Morning coat or morning coat for women is used from late morning to 6 pm at wedding, baptism, fine lunch and reception. Clothing is most ordinary in the english dresscodes and it is not ordinary occurring in Sweden. Most then to wedding.

5. Casual
Dresscode casual, or dresscode smart, for women casual dress. Is the last in swedish dresscodes. In England and occasionally in some swedish business circles anticipates Casual = leisure clothes, unsolicited. Casual exists in three levels, casual, shrewd and business.

Casual is used from morning to evening, to confirmation, studentparty, lunch, informal reception, ancerimonial dinner, afterwork dinner and playhouse plus concerts.
